Jens Voigt sends pupils onto the track at the Olympic Stadium
The girls and boys could experience the flair of a small Tour-de-France with the stage ride and Jens Voigt, Germany's successful ex-professional and Eurosport commentator, sent them out personally on the tracks at the Olympic Stadium. The Olympic Stadium is virtually on Jens Voigt's doorstep. The tour was also made possible by numerous members of the Berlin cycling clubs and partners from various companies. Among others, former world champion Robert Förstemann and world championship medal winner Andreas Müller were involved in the organization team. The Berlin Cycling Association's Tour de Berlin - International Youngsters Race is the first project in Germany to be supported by the Rapha Foundation. It was founded in 2019 with the mission to build a better future for cycling and cyclists.
The next generation of cyclists could now be cheered on this weekend in Berlin. The kids fought, similar to the adults, for cups, medals and the yellow jersey for the overall winner. Perhaps a future Tadej Pogacar was found here, who was also at the start of the Tour in Berlin as a pupil.
